The Book of Mormon

The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ, a companion to the Holy Bible. It chronicles the journeys and faith of a group of people who traveled from Jerusalem to settle in the Americas, and outlines their history and God’s dealings with them, including their prophets, accounts of wars, the stories of faithful individuals, and Jesus Christ visiting these people after His resurrection in Jerusalem.

In the New Testament, Jesus Christ tells his apostles, “And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd” (John 10:16). The Book of Mormon is a record of His ministry to His other sheep. Its purpose is to draw people closer to Christ and to their Father in Heaven, and to provides answers to questions that we have, including the nature of God, the purpose of life, and the plan by which we can return to our Heavenly Father.

I challenge you to read the Book of Mormon and pray about the things it contains. In Moroni 10:3-5, there is a promise:

Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things  and ponder it in your hearts. And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost, ye may know the truth of all things.
